The first 5 issues of Zoot were funny animal and juvenile humour. Issue 6 changed to mostly teen-humour strips with some significantly better art. However, with the next issue (#7) Zoot switched to adventure with jungle queen Rulah as the star (and after a few issues, presumably burning off inventory or responding to reader interest, multiple Rulah stories appeared in each issue with the rest being mostly filler).
