Anne-Louis Girode was a famous French painter who had peculiar habits about his work. He painted only at night, working by the light of candles that he stuck in his hat. Ferdinand Flausson, a 19th century statesman and journalist, decided the way French law was written, was just too complicated and hard to read. So Flausson set himself to the task of making it easier to understand the laws of the land. How? By the incredible task of writing the whole French Civil Code with its 472 pages in the form of a poem, an extraordinary case of poetic justice. Believe It or Not!
