| Synopsis | A farmhand was the prime suspect in the murder of a wealthy farmer named Mayberry. The fact that his overalls were a mixture of dry mud and wet blood made him look very guilty. "But I didn't do it", he claimed. "It was raining hard and I was bringing in the tools when I saw him in the barn, bleeding to death. I ran inside, but he died in my arms". I told him, "It's a good story, but you're a murderer just the same". In a moment, I'll explain why. In the case of the big mistake, the farmhand said he ran in out of the rain and found his employer dying. Yet the mud on his overalls was dry and the blood wet. If he were telling the truth, the mud would have been wet, too. | ||||
