| Synopsis | An eccentric Chicago millionaire friend of mine went a step too far, I thought, in making two heirs compete for a fabulous diamond provided in his will. I knew one of the heirs who came to me for help. The will said the gem would be awarded to the first one who signed a claim before a U.S. magistrate on June 1st, one year after the millionaire's death. What'll I do, the heir asked me. Find an island in the Pacific, I replied. In a moment, I'll tell you what I meant. In the case of the time bomb, the young heir could beat his rival by going to the place where June 1st would come first on U.S. soil. That would be the island of Guam.
