| Synopsis | Not every case I investigate is a carefully concocted crime of passion. Some are plain funny, like this one. A neighbor of mine named Barker was being sued for damages because it was alleged he transmitted a disease to a friend. The person bringing the suit claimed he'd caught an allergy from Barker causing great sneezing spasms. Barker did have an allergy, all right. And when he was tested, the plaintiff showed the same symptoms. Great sneezing spasms, just like Barker's. "But they'll throw the case out of court", I told Barker. I'll tell you why. In the case of the suspicious sneeze, an allergy is not contagious. If the man who visited Barker suddenly developed Barker's unpleasant sneezing spasms, it was only a coincidence. But a noisy one at that. Gesundheit! | ||||
