If the notes hadn't said this comic was printed ca. 1946, I'd have sworn it came from the late 20s or early 30s. The art styles, especially on the science fiction strip, are quite dated and the stories seem unaware of such developments as cars, planes, WWII, atomic power--or for that matter, electricity.

The date for the competition inside is January 1948, so the printing date is probably right. Could the strips possibly be re-prints from an earlier comic?
