Love these Dixon Catman's. Or is it Catmen? Either way, thanks for uploading this one.

Thanks for this Le Chat Bleu. The Aussie Catman is one of my Favourites. Do you have any more Australian titles?

Excellent - nice crisp inks, good use of blocking - fast-paced story. Bit worried about how much Catman talks to himself when he's alone, early sign of Dissociative Identity Disorder.

I do have other Aussie comics, but they're ones which have been posted by myself or others.

For those interested in John Dixon's Work. FREW comics Australia have been reprinting and updating a lot of classic Australian characters in their regular Giant-size Phantom series of books. The most recent, Giant-size Phantom #14 is a John Dixon special. Contains Catman, The Phantom Commando, Captain Strato and a 2 page biography of Dixon by Kevin Patrick. Book also contains a Charlton Phantom reprint by Pat Boyette and reprint of Sir Falcon #37. But, oddly, not the 'Phantom Ranger' story advertised on the cover. Check the Giantsize Phantoms out here. https://comicvine.gamespot.com/giantsize-phantom-14/4000-811243/ Cheers!

I'd never heard of this Aussie comic before. The story was quite good and I liked the pace. Though I did wonder how they got away with so many similarities to Batman - the name, the cowl with pointy ears, the utility belt, the Cat Cave, the Catjet, and the boy sidekick. Lots of similarities.

Catman is based on the Holyoke Cat-Man character, by means of an agreement between Frew and Holyoke's owners after Holyoke was no longer publishing comics. Originally, the Australian Catman and his sidekick, Kit, appeared in Super Yank Comics, written and drawn by Lloyd Piper. He's quite different from the Holyoke original, including a gender swap for the sidekick (Kitten becomes Kit). After that comic was cancelled, the character was revived in his own comic, revamped by John Dixon, who wrote and drew it for 12 issues. After those, every issue of Catman that there's record of is a reprint of one of those 12 issues.
