NotesStrange mail indeed. Betty greets the mail plane from Monroe only to discover a small boy and his dog are being flown to Chicago. Too late to catch the transport, and with Tommy and other crews out of town, Betty volunteers to fly the boy and his dog to Chicago. However, unbeknownst to her, the boy is a vital witness to a daring bank robbery. With the trial in progress and nearing the end the ruthless gangsters are trying desperate measures to prevent the boy from reaching Chicago. What perils await Betty and the boy? With Betty’s life at stake, what can Tommy and Skeeter do to help?

This plot would make a great movie. Unfortunately, the ending has been shortened.

Yes, I agree the ending seemed a bit abrupt. In the following weeks lead-in panel it starts off "Betty-Lou, through the aid of Tommy and Skeeter succeeded in getting Jerry to Chicago in time to testify against the bank robbers, who were convicted!" That is all. The next sentence begins "Our scene now shifts high above the state of Oregon...." which is the prologue to the next story. By the way that story looks very interesting. Has a great intro page with pictures of all the passengers (10) on a plane and a caption underneath including their names and occupations. It has the feel of an intro from an old time movie or serial.
