Yeah, I can see how this giveaway from Winchester will shock some of our members! Today, it would be a major lawsuit waiting to happen!
However, at the time of its publication, recreational shooting was not only acceptable in the U.S., it was actively encouraged. Yes, I was properly trained in the use of firearms- most of us were. I'm not defending it, just stating a fact. It was a far different culture then.
