PHANTOM COMMANDO 3 by John Dixon was published by Horwitz Publications in (estimated) July 1959. Dixon created the character, writing and drawing the first three issues, before leaving the title to focus on his Air Hawk newspaper comic strip. Dixon was succeeded by Maurice Bramley, with Dixon’s blessings. Under Dixon’s hands. The Phantom Commando stories ran for the whole issue; under Bramley, the title consisted of several shorter stories, some not featuring the Phantom Commando in the story’s events.
