NotesTHE BRONZE VULTURE by Will Donald was published by the Offset Printing Company in 1946. A father and son are ship wrecked on a hostile jungle island, where they become embroiled in a conflict between parties seeking a brass statuette of a vulture. The cover promises ‘action in every picture, adventure on every page’, so what are you waiting for?

Thanks Dan, for uploading this great Australian comic book. The artwork is excellent, and the story is a well-crafted adventure. Thanks for giving me the heads up on it. I look forward to all your uploads of rare Australian Golden and Silver Age books. I like full colour better, but Donald's shading is quite good, and is better for reading than the standard penciler's lines with just ink over them, without shading, or with weak attempts at shading by people who aren't good with using light and shadow to accentuate what is important, and direct the readers' eyes. Great story/plot. I love the cantankerous old crank treasure hoarder as a Robinson Crusoe character, gone demented, and his sidekick ape, that everyone calls a "monkey". They make an unexpected villainous pair. How many more stories with this father/son pairing appeared in this Australian series?
