The interior of this book has nothing at all to do with Fox Features' original Ribtickler #7, or #2, from which the front cover of this comic book was taken. In fact, the inside pages of this book were printed from artwork originally produced for the slated, and scheduled, 2nd issue of Robert Farrell's and Al and Vince Fago's joint venture, "Kiddie Kapers" series from 1945, which was never issued by Kiddie Kapers Publishing, Inc. due to that series being shutdown because of a difference of opinion (a misunderstanding) between the two parties over distribution of profits. It is apparent from the amount of finished art from that series that was used by Al Fago in later publications used in Charleton books, and others that were issued in later Farrell books in 1946 and '47, as well as in The 1950s, and by I.W., Green, and Norlen Publishing books during the mid and late 1950s, that, at LEAST 3 other issues of "Kiddie Kapers" were drawn up. Only one front cover for those issues has surfaced, used for a later Robert Farrell re-issue in 1957, titled "Kiddie Kapers 1" (but its insides were reprints of several early 1950s St. John material.

Thank you Robb K, you're certainly a mine of knowledgeable information. Very much appreciated. All I knew, whilst editing, that this one will be great for the little kids to enjoy. As far as I know, those books you referred to were never published in Australia, (where I live) and I'd never known about them. Anyhow, many thanks for your comments.

NotesByline changed from "by Gabby" to "by an Old Ranny" and the dialogue balloons also change every instance of "Gabby" to "Ranny."
This version has slightly altered artwork from the "Gabby Hayes" version--for example, the face of Gabby (especially on the first page and most notably on the next-to-last panel on the last page) has been changed so that "Ranny" looks less like the real-life Gabby and more like a generic old-timer. The final panel also has a caption box added.
It is possible that even the "Gabby Hayes" version was a reprint, since Jack A. Warren's comics career was largely in the 1930s and 1940s.
