I've often wondered what the logic was behind some of the ad placement for ads in comics back then. Who did they think the audience was? The inside front cover is a stunner too. What may some parents have thought when sneaking a look at their kids comics? I know my mum used to read mine.

I think the publishers assumed most readers would be young adult men. During WWII countless comics were sold to GI's. This would also account for all the sexy-babe features like Choo Choo and her sisters. Of course the publishers knew kids read the comics, too, but I imagine they viewed that as collateral damage. It was the guys they were after.
