Zip Jet #1-2
« on: June 19, 2009, 04:11:02 PM »

Zip Jet (St John) #2 was just uploaded and Zip Jet #1 is also there.

According to GCD the contents of these two comics are just the opposite of what we have here.  I think GCD is probably right as the posted covers give a story title that agrees with GCD.

Our copy of #2 (which I believe is #1) skips from page 25 to 32 so I think there must be a story missing  (which incidentally GCD doesn't list so these scans correctly replaced in the right issue # may be the source of their info.

Our copy of #1 (which I believe is #2) has a bc and ibc that can't possibly be right.  The back cover is a Mattel ad that is clearly copyright 1966.  The ibc has no copyright, but advertises the GI Joe action figure which didn't come out until the 60s I don't think and the address in the coupon has a zip code and those didn't get created until the 60s.

Anybody got the real things to check?

Thanks for catching these Jon.
I hope someone has the 'real deals.'

I recall people figuring it out that the covers were switched by the publisher so that's explainable.
Someone put them 'back' so to speak.

These comics just came up over at GCD and one of our members (Frank Motler) confirmed the contents of both issues from his copies.

Frank added 2 pages of text to #1 (GAC scan #2) and confirms that the remaining 5 interior pages are ads, not a missing story.

The back cover of #2 has either an ad for a book on joining the army or an ad for dresses.
