Chippie and Paddy could be by Fleischer animator Al Pross, going by how the ears and dog noses are drawn. Chumpy could be by Hal Lockwood, also a Fleischer animator, going by how the monkey is drawn. The name “Pat Wood” could be a combination of Lockwood and his wife’s name, Patricia.

The artwork in this book is about average for the New York comic book studios of the time.  But, whoever wrote the stories wouldn't have known a story if it it hit them in the face.  Nothing really happened in most of them.  And when something actually DID happen, it came from out of nowhere, with no motivation or previous event leading to its occurrence!  WORST so-called story writing I've EVER seen in ANY genre!  I've been told "stories" by 3-year olds that made more sense, and were funnier.   BAH!  Humbug!  After many years of waiting to see this book, the art didn't disappoint much; but the book, on the whole, was a big, BIG disappointment, as it was "unreadable".

Eh, I was amused by it enough. If it only goes for gags, even ones that don?t hit, then I won?t get that sore over it. Haha.
