Hello from emcee ...
« on: April 14, 2010, 07:30:07 AM »

Hello everyone,

I am really happy to be here at GAC.  I was given the link some time ago by my friend Darwination, but I somehow forgot about it until now.  Oh well, there is no time like the present!

A little about me:  I am 33 years old, married, no children (because I am too irresponsible haha), I work as a property manager for a real estate agency with my wife (she does 80% of the work and she saves my bacon with the boss ALL THE TIME), and I am a comic collector since my boyhood.

The comics I like best are the family type comics, such as published by Disney, Archie, Dell, Harvey, Charlton, King Features Syndicate, Fleetway and IPC, and characters such as The Phantom, The Spirit, and Groo the Wanderer.  I currently have 12,000+ comics in my collection and I add to this every time I have some cash to burn.

I also love cooking, especially Italian food.  I grow my own herbs and vegetables in a small patch in my courtyard (space is at a premium in the complex I live in) and am soon to build my own wood fired oven for pizza's and baking.

I often hang around the DC++ comics hubs and have made some great online friends.  I already see some familiar names in the brief look I took at the members list.  I look forward to visiting as I can, and having some fun collecting even more golden age comics!

Michael

Welcome to the site Emcee!

Darwination has always been a top-notch guy and helpful to many of us.

Do you actually store 12,000+ paper comics?  :o :o :o  Where?!! How?!!  ;D

Again, welcome.

B.  :)

Welcome to our family, emcee! I loved Groo back in the day. I had about 5,000 comics but had to sell them when I was 19 - had a daughter. I'm 39, married with 2 daughters - 10 & 20. I like to cook by my wife and youngest daughter are VERY fussy eaters so I don't get to experiment when I cook.
One of my favorite comics was 'Mazing man. I loved the innocence of that guy. One of the books I miss.
