This will be the last con at the Concert Hall, according to the organisers. Shame, as its a  good venue in the city centre.  Past cons have been good fun but, apart from small press and a couple of bigger publishers, there have been fewer and fewer back issue dealers turning up. As quite a few fans treat these events as social occasions, the continually increasing entry prices have, and will, put folk off. While I've enjoyed Mr. Hitch's work, I have all I need of it and I don't collect signatures.  But I have arranged to meet people, so I'll toddle along and have a look.

It's location is ideal but the venue itself presents some logistical problems for the organisers and I'm personally not keen on the layout but give Sha and the team credit where it's due they do well with what they have. Interested to see what the future holds for the event and the new team that takes over.

The entry prices for this con are the same as they were in 2019. Very fair in the current climate.

For me it's the talks that hold the most interest and I'll  be keeping an eye on an announcement for those. As a lot of the "old guard" retire and die off the cons have become a much more pleasant experience for most attendees. I hope it's final hurrah in this venue is a successful one.

Personally, chats with the old guard were good. As are chats with the newer creators.  Interestingly, there have been some Italian and Spanish speaking creators at recent cons, who have been working for British and American publications. The recent collaborations between DC and Bonelli, and the DC/Manga books are very interesting developments.  But will we see English translations of Flash/Zagor and Nathan Never/JLA? It's been a few years since the Italian versions appeared. Hopefully, some of those very talented Bonelli creators will turn up at Scottish cons.
