[Muffaroo]

"Mr. E" and his punny name give me a flashback to running a comic shop in 1975-6 and reading most of what we sold. The king of "going in for that sort of thing" has to be Terry Beatty, whose character Ms. Tree (Get it?) would team up with (also his character) Mike Mist so they were mist-tree stories. I feel like there was a third element in this that I've mercifully forgotten, like her middle name would make her M. S. Tree in correspondence, but won't swear to that one.

He did a whole humor comic by himself (MOD) that was beautifully drawn and not actually funny at all. His recent work on newspaper strips, in my opinion, shows him at his best.
