The Magnet

That's year 1933 (issues 1299-1350) uploaded via FTP.

Please note that the following issues are missing some pages:

Issue 1299 is missing pages 14-15 (centre double page)
Issue 1300 is missing pages 14-15 (centre double page) & 28
Issue 1301 is missing pages 14-15 (centre double page)

I am still waiting to hear from Stewart at Friardale, so I suspect he is not having much luck in tracing the missing pages.

Sorry for the delay in posting this batch, but things have been a bit busy here tidying up affairs etc. plus Carol & I decided to take a short break to chill out, so computer work was put on the back-burner.

Just reading the forum chats I've missed has taken at least two cups of tea.

Hopefully that's me fully back up to speed, and I'll get the next batch up early next week.

Regards

Graeme

The Magnet

That's year 1934 (issues 1351-1402) uploaded via FTP.

Please note issue 1390 is missing bottom of front cover.

I thought I would have these up much earlier, but Carol took a couple of weeks leave, so again compy work put on back burner.

I have got the last 6 years downloaded just have to process and convert when I get a chance.

Close to perfect timing, Graeme as I like to read some Bunter Christmas stories around Christmas and I have never read the most recent ones.  Looking forward to the "The Spirit of Polpelly"  Thank you.

That's year 1936 (issues 1455-1506) uploaded.

Again no problems with these as far as I can see.

Just for Paw another Christmas story - Billy Bunter's Christmas Party - Enjoy!

Hopefully will manage to upload the last few years of publication, before the end of this year.

Great work, Graeme.  I have read that story but that cover on #1505 with Bunter charging through to catch the train is wonderful.

It's the Christmas story from the previous year that tickles my fancy this time round.  That and a Nelson Lee snowy, ghostly mystery.

The Magnet

That's year 1937 (issues 1507-1558) uploaded.

Paw it appears that in this year there are two Christmas stories although they appear to be linked:

Issue 1557 - King of The Castle
Issue 1558 - The Wraith Of Reynham Castle

Hopefully they are new to you.

Funnily enough the large issue this year (32 pages) was no 1555 dated week ending December 4th. Can't see the reasoning behind it.

Yet more goodies, Graeme.  Thank you.  I seem to remember reading the Reynham Castle story ages ago but well worth reading again.  This year I have piles of classic Christmas stories and Mark's new invention:-
The months subsection https://comicbookplus.com/?cbplus=yns_months and December https://comicbookplus.com/?cbplus=december_l_s_0
means there is no excuse for our members not finding something seasonal to read - and that's a good thing. ;D

The Magnet

That's year 1938 (issues 1559-1611) uploaded.

Problems with:

Issue 1560 - Poor quality scan
Issue 1583 - Poor quality scan + pages 2, 14 & 15 missing

Have tried to adjust page quality to improve scan, but they are still quite bad.

Christmas stories this year:

Issue 1609 - Harry Wharton's Guest!
Issue 1610 - The Mystery Of Wharton Lodge!
Issue 1611 - A Baffling Quest!

The Magnet

That's year 1939 (issues 1612-1663) uploaded. No problems with these as far as I can tell.

From issue 1660 the pages were reduced to 24 pages.

Christmas stories this year are:

Issue 1661 - The Phantom Of The Moat House!
Issue 1662 - The Man Of Mystery!

Blimey you are pilling them in :)

* Just seen  typo!  One less 'l' and now 'piling' suddenly takes you out of the running for CB+'s resident junkie :)

The Magnet

That's year 1940 (issues 1664-1683) uploaded. No problems with these as far as I can tell.

Issue 1683 was the final Magnet printed - from May25th 1940 it merged with The Knockout.

So PROJECT COMPLETE - Yaay!

And Mark I wouldn't be so hasty with taking me out of the running of resident junkie, not with the tablets I have to take each morning.

A Happy New year to one and all.

What an amazing feat, Graeme.  Well done.  I know I'm biased but these are a great addition to the site, and I'd encourage all our readers to dip their toes in all that Bunter silliness and genius.

Prize Comics #65

Just uploaded Prize Comics #65.

Was going through my lists and noticed it wasn't on CB+. It is however only 46 pages long. But will perhaps do until a full version comes along.
