Nedor/Standard/Better "Wonder Comics" #2 Grim Reaper origin
« on: September 23, 2009, 01:43:05 AM »

I've found a lot of Wonder Comics, but no luck yet on #2, the origin story of the Grim Reaper. Anybody able to upload this?

And/or his first appearance in "Fighting Yank" #7?

Much appreciated, as I've developed a sad, unhealthy obsession about finding these issues. Very sad.  ;)

I'm glad to meet another fan of wonder comics. This is one of my personal favorite anthologies. It has a bit of everything. It even appears appeals to the part of me that likes strong, intriguing female characters.

It say here:
http://comics.lib.msu.edu/rri/wrri/won.htm

Wonder Comics. -- New York : Great Comics Publications,
   1944-1948. -- col. ill. ; 26 cm. -- Published no. 1 (May
1944) - no. 20 (Oct. 1948), cf. Official Overstreet Comic
Book Price Guide. -- Description based on no. 2 (Aug.
   1944); title from indicia. -- HOLDINGS: no. 2, 11-14, 16,
   20 (1944-1948)
   1. Superhero comics. Call no.: PN6728.1.G73W6

Does that mean that library has those comics? The page about their Special Collections section says Material may be used in the reading room only and should be returned to the reading room desk when finished. so I guess the point in moot. Oh well.

Yes Michigan State University has a large collection.  Randy Scott is (or at least used to be) the curator/librarian of the special collection which housed them.
