What book is this story-opening splash panel from?
« on: January 12, 2021, 08:30:36 PM »

This untitled "Shilly and Shally" July 4th holiday story, undoubtedly produced by The Sangor Studio for ACG/Creston Publishing books (most likely "Ha Ha Comics", but, secondarily possible for "Giggle Comics") between 1943 and 1947, is not listed under those 2 series in Grand Comics Database, and not found in a GCD search by lead character name paired with identifying first dialogue balloon text.  Furthermore, now that CB+ has finished uploading ALL issues of both Ha Ha Comics (series containing all known "Shilly and Shally" stories), and its sister publication, "Giggle Comics, I have looked through all 200 issues of those 2 comics magazines, as well as all GCD detailed data entries for every issue in those 2 series, and did not find it.  In addition, I looked through all issues of ACG's "Funny Films", and its older, Giant comic books, and didn't find it.  The only ACG funny animal comic book I don't have, that could possibly contain this story, is the unscanned, non-Internet available, 1945 "Funnybone Comics # 1", from which about half of its stories I haven't seen.

If you know which 1940s comic book contained this story, please identify it in a post on this thread.  Thanks for any help.

This question was answered.  It was Ha Ha 56.  I somehow overlooked it when looking through all the books in that series.
