But in the UK, IW comics were not available in cellophane packages but openly and individually on the stands alongside better known brands.
I remember them repackaging Blue Beetle comics as The Human Fly and getting round the Phantom Lady by publishing her adventures in Great Action Comics. They named the Spirit and Plastic Man correctly though. If it weren't for skanky old IW I'd have never discovered these classic characters until years later, if at all!

Like K1ngcat I bought IW comics individually. In my case it was his Spirit reprints, bought off a bus station newsstand. I imagine Waldman shopped his comics to whomever would take them. Commerce was so much more localized in those pre-Internet days. It was a lot easier for legally-challenged stuff like this to make the newsstands without being noticed.
