sharpen

It is true that at times I like a dry wine, red or white, but at the same time I can enjoy a sweet wine if not overdone.

Some of you scanners I think have a penchant for dry wine as you enjoy doctoring your scans with the sharpen feature.

I am always caught in a twix between two when involved with a scan in that there is a desire to provide that tiny bit of extra clarity in detail by using the sharpen function

but notice when doing so that there is lessening of vibrancy to the color tones which I feel is demeritous to the final product.

Either way is fine with me when viewing a scan as I'm just glad to have them

but when scanning myself, after going back and forth a goodly number of different times in camparisons and judging the balance, I've reached the conclusion that as far as scans are concerned I'll leave the cork in the dry wine bottle and opt for a richer grape flavor.
