Well crash, being familiar with Ingels' work and not Anderson's, when I saw that piece I just naturally thought it was the former. But since this was 1953 and a St. Johns comic... and Ingels probably had more than enough work at EC... and both you and JVJ are familiar with Anderson, I'll concede that I'm mistaken. :)

By the way, I thought the couple on the cover looked familiar, they're the same pair who appeared on the cover of Standards' "Thrilling Romances," issue #18 (Mar, 52).

I certainly see the similarities between Ingels and Anderson. I want to make it clear that I didn't post my comment to show off, but rather to cast a little light on a fascinating, and forgotten, artist. In fact the only reason I know this stuff is because of a bizarre chance encounter some forty years ago between JVJ and the artist's son. He was a young guy in a record store looking at Frazetta album covers. Jim struck up a conversation and we were astounded to discover his (late) father was Harry A. Jim and I met with the son and learned the strange story of his dad's career. He even brought with him the surviving pencilled page of Harry's last undelivered story. Anderson hated comics and forbid his son to have anything to do with them, so naturally the son grew up fascinated by comics. Wonder whatever happened to him.

Sorry crash, I hope I don't come off as sounding put out in my last post here, I'm not... just my sometimes caustic way of expressing myself.   One of the problems I've found with me over the years (the hard way) interacting with others in forums, people tend to misread or read-into some of my attempts at being witty... probably not worth it, but eh, I can't help it.   :)

I usually find comfort in the observation that I'm not the only one with such misfortune.   ;) :D
