From about this issue, there seems to have been a deliberate editorial change of policy for this book. No more superheroes, all 'realistic' action and a sprinkling of cheesecake. And is this the first Senorita Rio?

It seems like Fiction House was never really comfortable or had a clue when it came to superheroes. FIGHT seemed to be their one title where that genre might fit, and it seemed like at first they were more than willing to capitulate to a perceived public demand for longjohn characters while they were still trying to figure out a formula for the lineup of features in that title (it must have been immediately apparent that a comic book full of boxing stories - like their pulp FIGHT STORIES - wouldn't fly), but I'd assume there was a negative backlash from readers (or at least a notable dip in sales) that indicated to them that the typical FH consumer had somewhat different tastes than the baseline comics reader of other publishers, and was less interested in the fantastical-type characters. The one fairly long-running superhero character FH did have was the sci-fi superhero Red Comet, over in PLANET COMICS, and it wasn't exactly one of the standout features in that title either.
