Just realized that the creators of 'The Authority' were British and created the duo, Apollo and the Midnighter, at first glance obviously a take on Supes and Bats. Hmmm! British creators and Apollo gets his powers from the sun.
So, Superman to Captain marvel to Mr Apollo - to Superman ( who also now gets his powers from the sun] to Apollo?
Oh,what a tangled web we weave!
Oh and 'Jerry Gunn' [from Tommy Gun?] is a dead ringer for Clark Kent! Except for the pipe.
