I wonder if any of them are streaming services?

I checked a couple of streaming services and found the 1998 version on YouTube, Roku and Tubi, but only clips for the 1938 version on YouTube.

At the same time I wondered how Bob, Son of Battle came to be regarded as a children's book.

I've wondered that at a number of so-called children's books.  ;)

My dad grew up on farms in New Jersey and later Washington, so I imagine he liked the book because he was familiar with the type of setting (raising livestock). As for the violence, I don't know for sure but farmers do kill some of their livestock and he would hunt for food so maybe he and other kids were more used to the more violent side of life.

(I find it interesting that DC had Superman raised on a farm, but he doesn't even kill animals. That is one sheltered farm boy.)
