And the Fawcett is running so it's time to stop Ficheing!

Captain Marvel Adventures 45 (Paper scans) now ready for download.  And as grateful as I always am for Fiche scans, I think this one really could use the upgrade.  Includes chapter 24 of the classic "Monster Society of Evil" serial.

It's been a while since I've posted stuff here, which is my bad- I've mostly been putting stuff up at DCM and letting others handle getting the books over here.  I wanted to fix that, particularly since I have some JVJ targets to put up.  However, the Upload link didn't work for me when I tried to use it last night.  So how are we handling things now and how can I get the books here?

Several books uploaded to the FTP:  Target V8, N 1, 2, 7, and 8 courtesy of JVJ.

And Adventures of Peter Wheat 24, from my own collection.

Enjoy!

Just started uploading a MASSIVE number of Target Comics to the FTP; this includes all my last box from JVJ.  With some help from Geo on scanning those, as well.  Plus several issues from my own collection, including v1n5 with the first Spacehawk story.  And quite a few more issues from assorted scanners that are now C2C.  And any other random issues I had from other scanners that GAC seemed to be missing, including lots from FreddyFly.

Anyway, if you haven't seen these elsewhere, enjoy!

It's my fault for having sat on them for a while, I had uploaded them to DCM but not over here yet.

Doc, you are very welcome.  Although thanks from anybody and everybody is appreciated, your place in comics as both a creator and historian makes thanks from you something special.   :)

And we're starting off my new batch from JVJ with some fills of others scans:

8 issues of 4 Most now on the FTP by various scanners, they were all previously incomplete.  They are now all C2C with info cards added, thanks to JVJ.  My thanks to the original scanners on them, as well as Jim.  Enjoy!

Wow! More Kelly and Wolverton.  Love it!

I first heard of Peter Wheat years ago in some Ron Goulart fanzine/magazine.  IIRC there was an article on the series  (by Maggie Thompson?) in one issue and Goulart occasionally ran B/W reprints of the stories but I never saw any of the original comics or saw any in color until I found this site which has been a treasure trove of vintage Kelly work!

Keep 'em coming!

Thanks

Joe

You're welcome, josemas.  I absolutely LOVE Peter Wheat, but it's rare enough that to date I'm the only person who has located and scanned issues.  It means a lot to hear from other people enjoying them.

I don't suppose you have any idea where said articles and reprints may have shown up?  I would love to see them.

Eric it's in The Golden Age of Comics #1 (Dec '81 not v2 Mar'84).  It has the first two Peter Wheat stories in b&w.  These are the same stories I provided you scans of from the guy who originally Xeroxed them for use in this publication -- at least I sure hope I did and that I recall right about the details.  Unfortunately he no longer had them to make color scans. There was a Nibble & Nubble story too.

No worries, then.  Luckily I have the first 3 issues of the series and they're already scanned in color; and I'm down to missing only one issue of Animal Comics and it's one without Kelly art.

I should still look for the book for the articles on the series, though!

And, a semi-rare post from me over on this site, rather than just sticking it on DCM and letting it get moved over.  But it's not something DCM would use:

New Nick Carter Weekly 708, from 1910, is now uploaded.  Over a century old!

That's excellent.  Thank you.  Being a bit selfish here, mind, as I enjoy this sort of stuff. ;)

Glad people like it, I'll try and get the one other issue I've got up fairly soon.

The old Nick Carter stories are interesting, but I can't imagine reading one a week for 14 years...
