Freddy just tried to upload a Harvey 'Green Hornet' comic.
Sadly these are not PD so I've had to delete the file.
I've also updated the Harvey folder on the site to reflect some titles are not PD.

JC or anyone else - if I've forgotten to include any non-PD Harvey titles there please correct it or let me know.

Thanks,
-Yoc

It's such a shame that the Harvey "Green Hornet" title isn't public domain (possibly because of the upcoming film?). If anything, I'd mainly want to read them for the Spirit of '76 stories.

I really think it needs to be posted minus the GH. No reason not to have Spirit of 76

I can only tell you about individual issues, really, and can guess at the series by a lack of issue renewals.  But I can't do much as far as predicting things by company.  (This changes a bit with post-1950 books, because the Copyright Office database is searchable, of course.)

For what it's worth, I think that the Green Hornet is a policy decision, not an actual renewal.  I don't see a "first renewal" entry on Ockerbloom's list, for example.  (If I had to guess, I'd assume it's because any of the material could be derived from the radio show, which has weird, non-Federal copyright coverage.  That can easily get messy, though it could probably be resolved by checking with a Hornet expert.)

I'd second that.

I'm sure Spirit of 76 is part of the public domain (along with most of the other characters in GH), and it'd be great to have those stories put up here minus the Green Hornet tales. That would be entirely up to Yoc, Aussie, and Freddy -- who'd have to remove the GH tales -- but it sure would be cool to have those issues. Spirit of 76 is one of my favorite patriotic heroes ever.  ;)

If someone with the Green Hornet scans wants to post a 'Spirit of '76' collection GAC would be happy to host it.  Phabox and myself have our dance card full with archive plans to cover the next year so it'll have to be someone else other than us to do it.

I guess it's up to Freddy, then. I'd love to read his cache of Spirit of 76 stories from the Harvey Comics Green Hornet issues, if he's got 'em. But I also understand it could be a bit time-consuming on his end.

And if anyone else has a stash of them and wouldn't mind, please upload them.  ;)

I'm not seeing it anywhere, whether I'm logged in or not. I'm sure that I'm just missing it though.
