The Milt Hammer "Buttie and Boobie" story in this issue was reprinted in JUMBO COMIC BOOK, a trade paperback that came out in the 70s with a bunch of stories from comics like this, looking like they may have been shot from the line art or stats of it. It seems highly doubtful that the quick-buck publisher would have gone to any trouble to take the color out. Hammer's work fascinates me. He seemed to work so very hard at it. I hope he made a good living from it. Do a search on "The Cardtoonist" to see a little course he put out on how to draw funny comics—on a deck of cards. (He also gave lessons in some of the comics I've seen here.)
