Do you think The Kirby Collector might have a list?

I've an 1970s portfolio publication of Kirby's work. Guessing about 16pages, large height and width in all b&w except one color page in the center of the book. Probably copyrighted but I've never seen another one.

Well don't scan a cover and share it just because I'm dying to see it, please!

I'll dig it up and try it later but scanning might be problematic as the size is larger than the scanner.

I still think the Kirby List is your best chance but I've heard they can be difficult to deal with.

I remember seeing in the early 70's a portfolio you could buy. It was called "Kirby" or "Kirby Unleashed". I believe the words Kirby were stacked on the left and there where some New Gods looking characters on the right.
Anyone else remember this, or better yet HAVE it?
I would not mind getting a hold of one of those.

It was published in 1971 and called A King Kirby Portfolio and subtitled Kirby Unleashed. The KIRBY was stacked on the RIGHT with a part of the wraparound cover image on the left. It has a color centerspread. TwoMorrows reprinted it in 2004 with additional color material. They just called it Kirby Unleashed. And, yes, I have both versions.

I "discovered" comic books with Spider-Man #33, bminor,
so the MMMS might have been in my reach, but I never joined. The others are WAY before my time and, like you, I've only read about them. I DO have several real "No-Prizes" from the '60s. But as for fanzine material... well, for several years in the early '70s I co-published with Bob Napier and Jan Strnad the fanzine review magazine,GEORGE, which eventually ended up as a column in The Monster Times. So, yes, I have quite a lot of fanzines and other publications from that era. In passing, I should comment that it is probably not out of reach for most of the group here to own a copy of the 2004 TwoMorrows reprint. So, I don't consider THAT to be anything special in my collection.  Truth be told, I had forgotten all about it and was surprised to discover it stored next to the 1971 version.

You published George?  When did you turn it over to John Kennedy, Jr.?   ;D

Hey, HE stole the name, not us. In 1971 JFKJR wasn't more than 11 and we'd begun our "run" (stumble? amble?) with a publication so named.  ::)

But you can't fight city hall, right? :P

And, actually, by the time he picked it up, we hadn't touched it for decades. It was fair game.

The first Spider-man I bought off the stands was #112, before that I only bought them second hand at rummage sales. The thought never occurred to me that I could buy them brand new!!!

Hey, I thought I would try and revive this Kirby forum.

Looking for a list of all the Golden Age Kirby Books.

It would be nice to have a special section here at the site with every book (that is in the public domain) that he did in it.

That would be nice.

How would you go about doing something like that? That is setting up a special section...

Hmmm....

Well one way YOU could do it would be set up a web page with links to all the Kirby books.

That would work provided the site allows deep linking.
