Amazing-Man Archive 01
« on: December 19, 2009, 11:39:10 PM »

Yoc:

I've uploaded a copy of Amazing-Man Archive 01 to my Mediafire account:

http://www.mediafire.com/Roygbiv666

This consists of Amazing-Man #5-17 published by Centaur Comics. Part 2 will be up soon, consisting of Amazing-Man #18-26 and Stars and Stripes #2-6.

The quality is variable as the source material includes fiches scans. Again, just a compilation of what's already on GAC.

Roy you may want to have everyone hold on. I got the box of Centaurs from JVJ. So these can be updated from the fiche.

Is there some list of upcoming scans, because it feels like a big waste of time to compile something, only to be told after the fact that new scans are upcoming. :'(

Roy it is never a waste of time -- I appreciate what you've put together. Downloading right now.

Sorry Roy,
These Centaurs only this last week became available for scanning.
No, we don't know what will show up in our mailbox before they get there most of the time.
As Narf is the scanner for these Centaur books it wont be hard for him to update your collections before uploading them to the site.

Thanks for your work on these,
-Yoc

Roy your work will not be wasted or go unappreciated. The material we have in fiche will be some of the last I scan as I would rather put up the stuff that will be totally "new" first.

Thanks Roy but you can't share your entire folder on Mediafire.
If you notice the file name is on the left and way over on the right is 'SHARE'
Click on it and copy and paste the share link here and then we can grab it.

D'oh! Okay, I set up a folder called, imaginatively enough, "Comics" and moved all the archives into it:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=855536361b8575958ef1259ff1b60e81ef331c21000eb9e9416b94653a3044fd

Try that.

Ok Roy, I can see it now.
WOW, those are huge files!   :o
They add up to just over 175mb in total.  I'll be honest - that's larger than a lot of people can handle in one file.
If you don't mind, could you break it into five smaller parts?

I'm guessing you put them in chronological order right?
GCD will let you search by character and date.
Here's a link to a search I did for the character that way if you needed it.
http://www.comics.org/character/name/Amazing-Man/sort/chrono/

Sorry for being a pain here but I figure you ultimately want as many as possible seeing it and I've heard complaints in the past from members when files got over the 50-60mb and yours are much bigger than that.

So each file should be about 35 Mb? I'll have a look.

Hi Roy,
Glad you saw this.  Yes, I'd suggest 30-40, 50 tops being a good size.
The absolute max size the site can upload in one file is 100mb now.

Take care,
-Yoc
