Is it possible to host the earliest issues of New Comics on the site? I noticed New Adventure Comics is hosted on here, but not New Comics. Is that on purpose or is it that nobody has scanned copies for the site yet? Thanks.

I would have a difficult time believing that DC would not copyright new material.  This website only uploads public domain material (e.g. books or stories that are no longer protected under copyrights).

Robb, I believe he's speaking of a specific Golden Age title called New Comics https://www.comics.org/series/71/

As I understand it the books that were put out by Major Wheeler-Nicholson might not have been renewed for... reasons. (I know when DC renewed the copyrights on some Quality books they had to get Busy Arnold's widow to sign the paperwork because she was his heir, so perhaps there was a similar situation with the books Wheeler-Nicholson copyrighted?)

Yep, apparently one of the last comics Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson edited was Detective Comics #13 (March, 1938):

All the Detective Comics issues going back to #1 were probably renewed on time, but in regards to the status of New Comics, I

I would guess it's probably a case of nobody has scanned them/found scans of them.

If they are public domain, it would be nice to see them here.

New Comics appear to be public domain. All 11 exist as fiche scans.

As they are PD, why don't you make a formal request for them in the "Comics Wanted" section?

Robb,
Electricmastro has actually started this thread in the 'Comics Wanted' section.

So, already done!

Brings up the question, tho, is there a more effective way of making this need known?

Cheers!
