The Naagin - shape-shifting women who turn into snakes - are a regular feature of Hindu mythology. I remember a decent enough Mallika Sherawat movie Hisss! a few years back, directed by David Lynch's underrated daughter, Jennifer. There are also earlier Naagin movies from the seventies that can be picked up on DVD - and who could forget Sydney J Furie's The Terror of the Snake Woman (1961).

There's a great new series that's been taking India by storm in the last few years - number 1 in the charts in its first two seasons. For pulp and golden age fans, it's a must-see. It's available with English subtitles - start here:

The first episode starts slowly - as set-up episodes often do - but by episode 3 the series is really rocking (that is, rocking from side to side with plenty of spit and venom!)
