Wow, you're going to get all sorts of posts. It's like saying "what's the best piece of art?" Some of the anthologies is hard to quantify in that respect. They can have several stories and some may be very good and some pretty bad.

Someone here recommended that one some time ago. I downloaded it for that story and it was worth it.

I also believe it was one of the earliest stories featuring WHIZ-TV!

I like how DC used the concept of imiginary stories to mean outside continuity. Shows some respect for continuity

It's all subjective.  Read up a bunch of the comics and see what you think your favorite is.

I never followed DC much but it drove me crazy how they kept expanding their universe to explain GA stuff. Marvel does it now to and between the two of them their are an infinite number of Earths, parallel universe's, alternate timelines. That's part of the reason I've been just focusing on GA and SA stuff. Nice and neat.

Fortunately it was what DC would call an "Imaginary Story."

Er, aren't ALL superhero stories imaginary?

Ironicly, DC did reprint the Story in the GREATEST IMAGINARY STORIES volume they did awhile back.

They are doing another one with all BATMAN stories.

Yeah, for the most part the GA characters don't even acknowledge the existence of other characters from the same company, much less from a parallel world or alternate timeline!

That ain't necessarily so.  Fawcett did a *lot* of guest cameos in their strips...a lot of them crossed over with Captain Marvel and he repaid the favor, often.  (Don't forget Cap vs. Spy Smasher, either.)  In MLJ, the Shield and the Wizard teamed up in an early four-parter, and their allies Roy and Dusty formed the Boy Buddies.  In CAT-MAN COMICS, Kitten and the Mickey, the Deacon's kid, formed the Little Leaders with appearances from their mentors.  Besides the Torch / Namor battles (which, in one issue, offered cameos from other Timely heroes), there was the All-Winners Squad, and the Young Allies, which not only starred Bucky and Toro but had guest-shots from the Torch and Captain America.  Harvey regularly teamed their SPEED COMICS heroes in text stories, and put them all together in one Black Cat story against the Japanese.  A batch of Quality heroes made cameos in one Uncle Sam story, and the Spider Widow and Phantom Lady had a string of crossovers.  DC had two whole hero teams, the Justice Society of America and the Seven Soldiers of Victory.  In BLUE BOLT, the Twister crossed over into every strip in the issue he debuted in.  Uncle Sam summoned all the TARGET COMICS heroes together in one issue and gave them their assignments.  I'm sure there are some I'm missing, but that's what I remember off the top of my head.

Prize Comics had Black Owl, Green Lama, Yank & Doodle and someone else go up against Frankenstein.

Dardevil Comics # 1 had Daredevil team-up with Silver Streak, Lance Hale, Pirate Prince and others to fight Hitler.

Anyone have issue numbers for these stories?

I also remember a Mary Marvel-Bulletgirl cross-over that was reprinted in SHAZM! 30s to the 70's
