Argosy issues from 1940s
« on: August 28, 2020, 04:36:51 PM »

Hello, all. I am a PhD student at the University of Iceland, and I am trying to track down a specific issue of Argosy. Post is taking an extra long time to reach Iceland, which is why I prefer not to spend money on a physical copy...plus I don't make much on my PhD scholarship! The issues uploaded to this site stop sometime in the 1920s, but I am looking for an issue from July 1940 to help with my thesis. If anyone has access to these issues, would it be possible to digitize a few pages for me? I know it's a long shot!

Thanks for reading!

Hi, yes, I've seen them for sale, but with a very small PhD grant and a new daughter, I am trying to not spend any more money than I have to - which is why I would check to see if any were digitized. Plus, the post is taking quite some time to get to Iceland from abroad during COVID.

I am looking specifically for the story The Wolf of the North by F. R. (Frank Richardson) Pierce. It's in the July 20, 1940 issue, which hipcomic is for some reason selling for over $80: https://www.hipcomic.com/listing/argosy-pulp-july-20-1940-viking-cover-wolf-of-the-north-fn/2618854

Wasn't Wolf of the North by Philip Ketchum - part of the Bretwalda book?

If you have Kindle, you can download that fairly cheaply for
