The "F.O." is listed in the "pen names" section of volume four of the original printed WW from circa 1975, but with only the notation of it appearing in Ace. As far as I know, the initials appear only in Four Favorites #10. I have most of the other issues and have never seen it before. It's POSSIBLE that the "F" may have some relationship to (Louis) Ferstadt, for whom Kurtzman worked initially when at Ace.

The simple answer, Bob, is I don't know.

Thanks, Jim.
I found "Fo" in the Comic Book Artist Aliases database table Bails sent me long ago.
He didn't know who FO was either.

Is WW the Who's Who Bails did back in the 1970s?
I have the volumes upstairs in a box. (I have maybe 50 boxes of stuff upstairs and over 100 boxs of stuff in a shed.)

I have a bunch of 1960s-1970s comic fanzines, which shouldn't be too hard to find. (I know which TYPE of box they're in & these boxes are all upstairs.)

Peace with JUSTICE,
Bob

Yes, it's the four volume set that he did with Hames Ware (and lots of others) back in 1973-1976

Happily all that information is online now and available without rummaging through boxes upstairs.

If Nazis had won WWII and exterminated all the Jews and all the rest of their 'enemies', that might have resulted in a peace of sorts.
Not any sort of peace I'd want tho.

If another similar group wipes out everybody who opposes their theft and occupation of a certain peoples' native land, there might be a peace of sorts.
Not any sort of peace I'd want, but Obama & most other US politicians seems to support such 'peace process'.

I say LET IT ALL HANG OUT! I'm for struggle for justice and the peace that results from justice.

Hi Narfstar!

I don't remember which side of the brain is which, but I'm left-handed.

I'm not for rote learning, which is the way many if not most teachers teach math.
Some rote learning is required in math but I liked it BECAUSE relatively little of math learning NEEDS to be rote.
As an algebra student I didn't always remember the quadratic equation but I KNEW I could derive it quickly any time I needed to use it.

Math is logical, so the rational side of the brain needs to be exercised to learn and apply math.
However, math gets to be a lot more FUN when the creative/imaginative side of the brain is exercised as well.

Among the best (or at least my favorite) mathematicians are Don Knuth (author of SURREAL NUMBERS) and Ron Graham, both of whom excel in using both sides of the brain.

Geocaching is one of my many hobbies. I like creating puzzle caches.
One of my puzzles is a magic square composed of 4-digit numbers using only 1s, 6s, 8s, and 9s.
My magic square is the same upside down - 1s remain 1s, 6s become 9s etc. and left and right are reversed.
You may have seen such magic squares.

Now things get weird.
I've noticed that in magic squares using only 8s and 1s, 1s LOOK LIKE 1 over (not divided by) 1 and 8s look like 0 over 0.
Which I related to binary numbers.

Using maybe somewhat crazed reasoning(?)/imagination,  6 looks SORTA like 1 over 0 and 9 looks SORTA like 0 over 1.
In my magic square puzzle, the top halves of the 4 digit numbers form another magic square with cells containing binary numbers 0000-1111,
and ditto the bottom halves.
Etc.

I also play with integer sequences. I have a few sequences and comments at
On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences
http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/
Search for my stuff there by "Stump".

Some of the most interesting integer sequences are pretty weird.
Search for "Look and Say", that's a fun one, not one that I came up with, but I incorporated it in a geocaching puzzle.

I (bee_ess) only have a BS in math by the way.

Take care!
Bob

Well Bob I have a BS in Science. I picked up hours to get math certification tacked on. Highest I went was calc 1 and it was a struggle. I am very weak right brained. I do not visualize well so your magic squares and stuff just befuddle my puny mind. Also why I am an algebra not geometry oriented math teacher. Yes too much math is rote often because that is all elementary teachers know. Then high school math teachers who were good at math themselves assume that they are teaching by getting students to imitate what they have done not really understanding that the student does not understand what is being done. Then they get to me and I as WHY a lot. Blows their little minds. I will say that some love me and wish their others teachers had taken the time to try to teach them. Others do not like me they just want me to tell them what do, give them all the exact same kind of problem so they can just imitate what I did.
