Today is generally agreed as being Winsor's birthday. Were he still with us, he would be 153.

Winsor brought us Little Nemo in Slumberland, possibly the first famous regular strip - but more than that, he created Gertie the Dinosaur:

I can still remember, how fascinated I was (and still am), when I first read 'Little Nemo' pages. I looked at each individual page longer than other comic books as a whole.  :)

I love Gertie and will always be a brontosaurus, tail dragger dino guy.

Anybody seen MADGE the MAGICIAN'S DAUGHTER ? the pages are set up like NEMO and it has lots of fantastic, imaginative detail. Very McCay like.
