Public Domain Review
« on: October 08, 2020, 11:43:12 PM »

While posting re Alice of 'Wonderland' fame, I came across this site

https://medium.com/@PublicDomainRev

And as you will see, there is a veritable feast of Alice images on this site.

CB+ also has a lot of Alice as this search brings up.

Ziff Davis 'New Adventures in Wonderland' is obviously quite rare. We have only two issue here. { of at least 10. Quite an interesting book in itself.
Second Question, Since Tenniel's work is well and truly PD, does someone have a copy that could be scanned and added to CB+?

Cheers!

You would probably want to make sure to get an edition that was published in 1924 or earlier to make sure there are no possible conflicts with US law.  I have quite a few Oz books that are in editions that old, but not a copy of Alice.

The Internet Archive has a scan of the 1866 edition of Alice's Adventures In Wonderland.

The owners must have taken very good care of it as my first thought looking at the scan was that it must have been some kind of reprint.

I hope that United Features' early 1940s Single Series #24 can be added to CB+'s list of "Alice In Wonderland" books, it is a large (68 Pages?) book with 2 long stories, ("Alice In Wonderland" and "Through The Looking Glass"), and its artwork is excellent.

Here's a scan of its cover:

We could use the scans of Single Series 24 if someone supplies them
