Hello
« on: March 20, 2010, 05:49:02 PM »

Hello,
I've been here many times before although I confess not to having frequented the message boards.  The downloads have been quite helpful in my research of Golden Age artists.  I've been expanding my site to include Quality Comics at the present time.  If I ever get a good start on that I'm thinking about adding ACG.

I've finally got all the password stuff straightened out, but my meter is still stuck at zero.  Eventually I'll figure that out too I suppose.

If you're interested in GA artists, look no further than our own JVJ. He is the preeminent expert on comic artists.

You know what really scares me, Astaldo? It's that you just MIGHT be correct (though I sincerely doubt it), and, if you're right, then I don't really know enough. Just about half of the GA artists that I look at are unknown to me, and what does than bode for the future of comic art research? Like I said, really scary...

Peace, Jim (|:{>

I've got a "clip-art" file I've downloaded precisely because no one knows who did the artwork, and no credits are necessary.  Even if it's public domain and the illustrators are long dead, I would give credit for any artwork I used in other projects.  It's only right, y'know?

I need to add to my artist ID site. The more identified artwork one looks at the more that artist jumps out at you. The GCD does have some fair art ID'ers and I have learned a few. I think I have even pointed out a few details that Jim may have missed here and there.

It is good to see you here, and I wish you well with the Quality project. I do use your website fairly often, and I'll be pleased to see your work on the Quality artists. I'll even admit to being a fan of Vern Henkle.
