Anyone seen this yet?

I wasn't overly impressed with the first movie - found the pacing uneven and whilst the lead actress is a gorgeous Gal, it's a dead cert she's never been to drama school - but the second seems padded with more action and a strong support case - any thoughts?

Andrew there is no program name or link on this post, so I have no idea what you are referring to.

Cheers!

Thanks Andrew.

I saw the first on TV - most of it.
To my mind it was pretty derivative and by the numbers. Ok but nothing special. The huge budget and the special effects doesn't always help these movies

I will probably wait to see WW84 on TV also.

Cheers!

WW84 appears to be struggling somewhat.

I haven't seen it yet but the news is that it bombed after the first week in China (the second most important market) and Rotten Tomatoes has marked it down.

Having watched the first movie, my own view is that Gal Gadot may look the part but lacks any vocal range (plus a fairly heavy accent). I don't mean to be unkind but I have to state it as I see it.

That's sad - because it has consequences - DC is talking of laying off more employees and has delayed the new Zatanna graphic novel - perhaps that means they are getting nervous of hyping Zatanna as a character? That might also explain the sudden announcement of a new Catwoman movie.

Oddly, they have also announced a third WW movie - go figure.

The worst?  Really?
Worse than Daredevil, FF2 and Green Lantern?
I watched WW84 last night.  It was middle of the road.  I did quite enjoy the cameo in the end credits.  But the lassoing the lighting bolts bit was too much even for a superhero movie.  Just IMO.

The three films you mentioned would be considered classics of the genre next to the WW84 disaster.

Daredevil disappointed on my first viewing, but my opinion of it has changed after several repeated viewings, courtesy of free-to-air TV.
And for mine its better than the TV series.
FF2 is an abomination, primarily for one simple reason, the Silver Surfer - doesn't surf. They should have depicted him 'surfing' through the air. Would have been wonderful. Instead he zooms. The other biggest problem [in both films] is the casting of Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom - and the depiction of Doom. If they were afraid they would get sued by Lucas for infringing on Darth Vader, they really hadn't done their homework, since Vader is a clear rip-off of Doom. Why Lucas never got sued by many parties for copyright infringement is some kind of miracle.

Green Lantern? I don't think you can actually transfer the character effectively to the screen in a 'reality' movie.

Cheers?
