Comic Postcards

One area that I don't think we've looked at before (though I might be mistaken, there are so many hidden corners on this site) is the world of comic postcards.

Is this mainly a British phenomenon - or do similar traditions exist elsewhere?

It's hard to mention comic postcards without mentioning the work of Donald McGill - so let's start there:

Although later in life, Donald was the victim of what can only be described as a purge (an early example of cancel culture), in his day he attracted the attention of some real heavyweights:

But of course - there were others: Harry Parlett, Tom Browne, James Bamforth, Phil Millar - a whole world to explore.

Not only comic postcards either - before the industry descended into  cheap scenic photo shoots and little more, illustrators were heavily employed to produce postcards with a wide variety of themes. Maybe some of you out there in the land of Siliconia have your own favourites?
