I've being reading more than usual this week to escape the stress of work and with the conversation generated on the Project Superpowers thread, I figured this would be a good time to review another GA revival.
As I mentioned in a different thread, writer Del Arroz wrote a single issue of Dynamite Thor (DT) last year, raising the funds on Kickstarter.
DT has bright, colourful artwork and in old-fashioned style, our square-jawed proganoist is a military man, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, the original DT. In the first story, Thor is assigned to Iraq and uses his skills to take on an ancient monster god revived by ISIS. In the second story, he takes on a suicide bomber while also getting romantically involved with a mysterious high-ranking official.
Both stories are well-paced for a one off and achieve what they were aiming for: a fun, colourful, action-packed comic of GA style. I recommend it.
