Trench Coats
« on: April 11, 2022, 02:58:41 AM »

Hi
After seeing so many trench coats worn by characters in both movies and comic books I couldn't pass up a NIB NOS Spanish military trenchcoat I found on clearance sale at a very low price.
I was hesitant due to non US clothing often running smal but was very pleased to find this coat fits me perfectly.
The fabric ( a mostly wool blend)looks more suited to a high fashion coat than a rough and ready milspec. I suspect its for dress uniform wear. Fairly light and without a insulated liner its for spring and fall wear though with layering suited to winter wear as well.
I even ordered a new Fedora to complete the look.
After seeing my reflection wearing trench coat, Fedora and Black COVID mask don't be suprised if I go off the deep end and become a vigilante crime fighter.

Anyone else into this Noir style?

I've worn leather dusters as winter coats since high school (back in the 90s). I also wear cowboy hats in warmer weather, but I rarely wind up wearing the 2 together simply because the coats are too hot for summer and winter is too windy (and not really sunny enough) for the hats. I do however wear one of my trenches with an old beat to hell felt cowboy hat when it rains though. This hat looks more like something jed clampet would wear though. :p
