Our friends at Flashback Universe offers some thoughts on why DC cancelled this anticipated project.

It really brings home to light the fact that some of our beloved Golden Age Comics are horrid by contemporary social standards; and yet, important as historical expressions of society.

I bought the oversized reprint from Great Britain (Hawk Books?) back in the early 90's. It was pricy then, and I didn't really have the money for it, but as I've watched the book get scheduled and yanked several times now, I'm glad that I at least got it, and in oversized format.
