Hi,
My latest attempt at uploading keeps getting blocked with these messages:

Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Additionally, a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Is there a general problem, or is it me?

Got a problem with uploads. Trying to upload files in .cbz format, keep getting the message:
"Now, let us just see what the problem is here.

Ok, it's just that No file uploads of this type are allowed "

Huh??
I thought that was the PREFERRED  format. I've read all instructions re uploading to no avail.
Anyone else had this issue, or is it just the fault of this newbie that he cannot see?

I can't upload either, so it's not you.  Hold off for a while.  Mark will need to take a look at the problem.
Curious.  Which books are you trying to upload?  There are quite a few titles and companies we can't host.

The file I'm trying to upload is:
A Date With Judy 001.cbz
It's a comic book published by DC in 1947 (I have 79 issues)
13.4mb

Still keep getting "No file uploads of this type are allowed" error.

just posted this to another newbie.

This site is about making available books that are PD. That means they are in the Public Domain. That means that no person or company currently has a copyright, so they can be legally put up here by volunteers for people like myself and yourself to enjoy. They come from volunteers collections, which is why the quality is not always perfect . 
So that limits us to the 'Golden Age' and older, up to about 1964.   
So, many well-known characters can't appear here since they are still in copyright.
So no Marvel/Atlas or DC books and so on.

I believe that the book you are trying to upload is not PD and so, we can't host it here anyway.
You will find a few very early books from that 'group' here but they are from when it was legally another company.
Frustrating I know! Them's the breaks.
Put 'Public Domain' in the search engine - top right or go through the threads and you will learn more, but I warn you - it can be a minefield and can give you a headache.
