In france, the comics of KFS (Kings feathure syndicate) were traduce in the Years 1935 by Op

But if Popeye is public domaine in france, all translations are copyright .
Because translation is a work.
It's for that reason, we can only make on line anonymous traduction of 1940. (we're in 2010, 70 years after)

And if you want take popeye for publishing or for website, you must have the originals for traducts or have copyrights of translations by the french autors.
(who bought scans at KFS, because nobody got the scans )
In fact, Popeye is a public domaine but nobody can publish him, because nobody got the scans.
