Superhero TV shows
« on: October 09, 2022, 12:42:44 AM »

Subject - the current cluenessness of Disney as to how to make movies and TV shows of their franchises.
Or why I haven't seen a current Superhero movie for about 3 years now.
Well, except for Vin Diesel's Bloodshot movie which is excellent.

And, no - not just Disney.
Current focus - the SheHulk TV show.
Re the below, its refreshing to see a female millennial come to this conclusion and make this argument.

I was going to write some detail about how John Byrne must be smashing is head against a wall now, because that TV show version is the polar opposite of what he created with the She-Hulk comic,
But these analyses pretty much say it all anyway.

Over the last 2 years, my best friend sent me DVD copies of a PILE of superhero / comic-book TV show pilots.  While he got me hooked on THE FLASH and I really liked STARGIRL, and thought the live-action GREEN LANTERN film was better than the comics ever were (!!!!!!!!!), nearly everything else turned my stomach and forced me to practically BEG him not to send any more.

The Critical Drinker has done a pile of reviews on various movies & TV series, and as I have ZERO interest in ever seeing most of them, I've eagerly watched his often-SCATHING reviews, so I never have to watch the actual shows themselves.
