John Stossel: They’re ruining modern comic books!
« on: December 21, 2022, 12:58:56 AM »

“Get woke, go broke,“ as the saying goes. I don’t know if it’s always true, but it seems to be in the case of comic books.

The big duopoly of comic book publishers, DC and Marvel, are pushing political themes on their users whether their users want them to or not! They’re changing the entire storyline, personality and even backstory of favorite superheroes to push them into a political direction, and it’s not a balanced direction either!

This is reported on in John Stossel‘s latest video on YouTube, “Not your father’s comic books: invasion of the comic snatchers.“

The problem is not that they are introducing new politically themed characters, but they’re forcing politics onto old favorites like Superman and Captain America, leaving viewers with no choice when it comes to unbiased, politically neutral characters and storylines. So the top two publishers are both losing customers rapidly.

Another reason to favor the classic comics found on ComicBookPlus!

They've been doing it for a while now. Stossel's a little late to the party.

Depending on which YouTubers you listen to some mention it seems to have started as early as 2010, although others mention 2015/16 as when they started to notice (especially as it ramped up after Trump's election).

It's also been going on in other media as well.
