Another sad day for comic fans as David Sutherland has passed away.
David worked for DC Thomson, drawing, amongst other well known strips, The Bash St Kids and Dennis The Menace.  He was 89 and had recently been awarded an OBE.
By all accounts he was a really nice bloke and his work was excellent.  Here's an appreciation :-

That's bad news, paw, the Beano and the Bash Street Kids were an indispensable part of my childhood. RIP David Sutherland.

Thanks for the post K1ngcat.  Mr. Sutherland was also the original artist on one of my favourite superhero strips, Billy The Cat, art duties being taken over by the great Sandy Calder in 1970?
